Life is full of storms, Jesus promised we would have many troubles in life.  Sometimes the storms rage inside of us and sometimes the storm rages around us.  Either way, we can find inner calm and peace that Jesus promised.  Storms happen in relationships, when we are devastated by loss, death, and divorce, when we lose our faith or lose hope, because of a tragedy, or an unforeseen challenge.  Perhaps your storms happened many years ago, when you were a young child, and you suffered from abuse or neglect, or perhaps your storm is happening now.  Perhaps the storm rages inside of you, with anger, anxiety, or panic.  Perhaps depression is the storm that causes you to feel hopeless or unmotivated.  For many Christians, guilt and shame is their storm, from past hurts, broken relationships, broken trust, jealousy, fear or wounded relationships at church.  Perhaps you feel God has abandoned you or forgotten about you.  I promise you He hasn’t!   Problems and storms can make you feel that you will never see the sun again or know God’s love.  I promise you He is still there and peace is His promise.
